Be Loved Of God |

In November, I shall be travelling to the Dominican Republic with Christian Aid. I am honoured to have been asked to represent the Congregational Federation on this trip. We will be visiting Onè Respé (‘honour and respect’), one of Christian Aid’s partners, which is an independent faith-based organisation working in Santiago, the Dominican Republic’s second city. Onè Respé runs health clinics to give access to free treatment and prescriptions, accompanies people to get medical treatment, and runs ‘little schools’ enabling children of Haitian descent to be educated and receive a meal each day. Details of my fellow Congregational travelers: |
Philip, a town planner, is a deacon of Southam Congregational Church in Warwickshire, where he has been a member for ten years. |
Karen is a member and deacon of Ashby Congregational Church in Leicestershire, and has been Christian Aid rep since 2004. |
Richard hails from Market Harborough in Leicestershire, though has spent 40 years working in overseas rural development, including two years spent in Sierra Leone running an agricultura project for the Methodist Church. Richard recently completed the Federation’s Foundation Course. |
Currently Minister of Wivenhoe Congregational Church in Essex, Patrick is also Secretary of the Eastern area of the Congregational Federation, and serves on the Pastoral Board and Finance and Support Services Committee. He is Chaplain at the University of Essex. |
